Update on back garden

I had a phone call this morning and Richard from Church came to see what he could do in aiding me to get ready  for spring  for our growing area  I am waiting for a more information  but we talked about re weeding putting a membrane down and covering with wood chip so this after noon   I moved apple and pear seedlings to one corner of the first bed then when we move it will be in a straight line without going round  the tree

only moving the birdbath and toadstool when we mow the grass

Update on back garden

I was going to put video on of greenhouse but wordpress will not except for some reason    first too are from upstairs window we cut back the blackberry bush and uncovered the little pond the blue on which did have a little frog in but have not seen him lately and I unmoved and moved the bug hotel along a bit new photo to come shortly

I was surprised how much more room we have  I am going to use the hedge clippers next time David used hand shears this time round and I just pushed the clippings back under Neath the bush for the wildlife to use over winter

the dogs are fine and the birds are doing fine as well

just got to get the borders and veg area sorted for next spring

have a blessed day and stay safe and happy gardening

12 days in our new home and garden

Well we are slowly settling into our new home and gardens I still have the roses and grapevines to replant , but hopefully that will get done over the weekend I just cannot make up my mind to put the rose in the front garden or back garden

This is the back garden and the dogs are having a good sniff around  through the gate at the bottom is our walking area come bridle path for the local horses we can walk round in a square right back to our home again .

In front of my tall bird table on the right-hand side coming back to the house you have 3 square veg beds but one has raspberry’s in and I have added my golden and my red ones to it so I have no idea if their early or late ones I will be trimming them down and letting the come up in spring.

I also put my gooseberry and blackberry bush in and dotted the fruit trees to make mini orchard area as well

The grass needs cutting badly but still awaiting on my lawn mower to be mended but you’re not meant to cut it this time of year are you?

If I can find my long handle flat shears I might cut with that to let my neighbour’s know I am trying to look after the garden and my landlord more importantly  as the last tenants did not at all and that is one of the terms in our agreement in renting this house out  .

This the front of it  and as you walk to the back gate I made a area for my compost bins  I have two in the back garden one which has grass mowing’s in and an empty one of mined that I have started to fill slowly as I weed

I will take another photo with what we put under the front room window hopefully

I am thing the right hand side for the rose what dose anyone’s think would love your advice please and thank you

Rosehips

Well this will Be the first year I have collected any for my own use as normal I leave them for the birds but when I got low I did not keep up with the deheading of the rose’s so they made hips far to early so yesterday I went out and collected some to have a go at making rosehip jelly I have elderberry’s as well last year I made jam with them  so might see if I make a jelly as well watch this space as they say

rose hips

I added some apples and pears for natural pectin  to help it set now it at the straining stage so hopefully this afternoon I should be able to finish making the jelly unless I leave it over night to strain ?

straing

Please  leave a comment below and I update you one the next stage of it later have blessed day

Friday 28
The day has been cool but nice today must Amit due to family reasons have not got anything done in the garden my mothering law was admitted to hospital the other day plus waiting for compost to arrive but I have been doing some weeding

Will take after photos over the weekend all being well

Saturday
We sorted two of our sheds out and I made room for some empty jars I had been collecting for jam and chutney and relish making still got to learn how to make some of them as never done them but always wanted to the suns been out for most of the day and the dogs have enjoyed it no end

And put a freezer in my tool shed ready for anything I harvest that I would like to freeze

Sunday

Well apart from putting the washing out on the line I have finally finished turning the compost bins over I now have 4and half full bins with 3 empty ones waiting to be felled in due cause as the half one gets finished first I think I did well as I was only using a garden fork and spade my garden claw only loosed the tops but did not go right done like I was hoping for

But at least that is now done until October when I will redo them I have to move a rubber car mat that was under one of the compost bins as it had not rotted down at all but found some worms in their

I am pleased with my daff that I planted in the autumn last year and sorry cannot Rember what their called here are all the flowers that are out in my garden at present
