Growing out of chaos

I had originally intended to go to a permaculture meeting this evening but I’m just too tired. Instead I have come home to the sight of flowering crocosmia.


I’m not sure how they appeared near the fir tree, considering they weren’t there last year, as far as I remember. I know that there had been mounds of these all over the garden, so perhaps they have been dormant for a year or two, since I dug what I thought was all the original lot up. In any case, in their current state, they are quite beautiful and the sight of them has definitely lifted my spirits.

Another sight worth seeing was a handful of runner beans. One of my colleagues loves them and so I will present them to her tomorrow.

The Chinese cabbage even seem to have survived the recent caterpillar attack and some of the tomatoes are turning…
